Publisher Award 2009
The Jury of the 54th Belgrade International Book Fair unanimously decided to grant the 2009 Publisher Award to the publishing house Arhipelag (Archipelago) from Belgrade.

The Publisher of the Year Award was presented to Gojko Božović, the founder of and editor-in-chief in Arhipelag, at the ceremony in the building of the City Assembly of Belgrade on October 29.

The publishing house Arhipelag is featured by high criteria in the selection of books, both of domestic and foreign writers, clearly and thoroughly profiled editions, enviable level related to the standards of professional publishing, close cooperation with numerous renowned publishing houses in Europe, but also by a special relationship with readers, public intellectuals, and social community. In the course of 2009, Arhipelag published 37 books, organized a large number of cultural events in cities/towns of Serbia, and participated at domestic, regional, and big international book fairs – it is said in the statement of the Jury.

Together with Arhipelag, the award for the publisher of the year was also granted on equal footing to the publishing house Kreativni centar (Creative Center) from Belgrade.

The award for the publishing undertaking of the year was shared between the publishing house Draganić and the Provincial Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments of Vojvodina for the two-volume monograph "Krušedol Monastery" by Miroslav Timotijević. For the best childrenćs book in 2009, the award was shared between the publishing houses "Mono and Manjana", which published "Spyology" and the publishing house Odiseja (Odyssey) for the edition "Prose Travels".

The awards were presented to them by the President of the Jury, Professor PhD Radivoje Radić.

The Jury of the 54th Belgrade International Book Fair worked consisting of: Professor PhD Radivoj Radić, historian, Professor PhD Ratko Božović, culturologist, Professor Mileta Prodanović, painter and writer, MA Jasmina Vrbavac, literary critic, and Arpad Vicko, writer and literary translator.
