148,578 visitors to 2011 Belgrade Book Fair

The 56th International Belgrade Book Fair was officially closed last night. In eight days overall, this year's Book Fair was attended by 148,578 visitors, 119,055 of which had a paid ticket. This is an increase compared to last year's 142,986 registered visitors.

The importance and grandeur of this year's Book Fair were best described by the Ambassador of Brazil Alexandre Addor-Neto during the closing press conference. Mr. Ador expressed confidence this was one of the largest book fairs in the world, both by size and importance. He believes it to be the result of a quality education in Serbia.

This year's Book Fair lasted eight days and the closing hour was pushed up to 9:00 p.m.
